Things are getting tricker. I've typed notes from notes from the class if anyone missed anything.
Week 11 Fashion Communication - Digital Illustration Class Work.1. Cut out figure with magic wand. Select and delete.
2. Copy figure onto new layer.
3. Name layers figure one original and figure two original.
NOTE: Put all figures for board in the same document. This will mean they are all in the one place, and when printing and working on them, you can turn off the layers you aren't working on.4. Duplicate figure one 5 times, naming figure 1.1, 1.2 etc. We are going to alter all the duplicates and leave the original untouched.
5. Order layers if necessary.
NOTE: To duplicate a layer from another file, click on the drop down menu in the layers box and click layer duplicate. choose the document you want to copy the layer to.NOTE: Right click on the area you want to work on, and a drop down list of layers will appear. Click on the layer you want to work on.6. Add in a head. Either a scanned one or one from he internet.
NOTE: Pressing the space bar will turn the mouse into a hand. You can use this to navigate around the image. 7. Turn all layers off, other than your head and the figure you are working on.
8. Window; Brushes. Clock on the paint brush to activate it. This will bring up all different types of brushes. Experiment with brush strokes.
Creating your own brush9. Select the area that you want. Edit;Define Brush Preset. It will now be in brushes.
10. In corner of brushes window, go to the drop down menu; save brush. save on usb. you will now be able to open this next time you use photoshop. Drop down menu;load brushes; find library and then click load.
11. Select the white areas of skin by clicking the contiguous box when on magic wand and go Edit;Fill and pick a skin colour.
12. To Shade, use the dodge tool to create lighter areas, use the brush tool again to create darker areas.
13. Use the bracket buttons to make the brush smaller and bigger.
14. Play with filters to create cool effects
15. Put the colour on one layer and the outline on a seperate one. this makes the outline clearer.
